MemberI’m going to be running a Dawn Patrol event at our local convention, GASPcon, in November. Does anyone have a suggestion for good scenario to run? I’d like to make it something other than just a generic dog fight. At our monthly game days I’ve run dog fights, a balloon bust, and a downed pilot rescue. So, other suggestions would be appreciated. I will need specifics on airplane types too so that I can have a good matchup.
Unfortunately, I have no way of knowing how many players I’ll have. I’d guess probably around four, but if I get lucky, I may be able to pull in as many as eight.
Thanks in advance!

ParticipantYoodle,
It depends on whether or not you want a balanced scenario. Balloon busting missions are always a lot of fun, and bombing runs can be exciting as well. Once you figure out what type you would like to do, and whether you want it balanced or unbalanced, I would be happy to help you figure out AC specifics!August 25, 2009 at 4:21 pm #7367Jim Robertson
MemberI would like a balanced game, but without knowing exactly how many players will be participating, will that be difficult to accomplish?
I think a bombing run would be fun. That’s one scenario we haven’t done yet. I always feel bad for the person that gets stuck flying the bomber though.

ParticipantFor a bombing run, you could use a British DH4 or DH9 escorted by Camel 130s, the Germans could have a Halberstadt CIV escorted by Pfalz DXIIs, so you could have objectives for both sides, or just one. If its even # of players obviously sides would be even, otherwise I would give the side w/ the bomber the extra player.
Have a specific target picked out, and maybe give the british bomber’s observer twin guns, so they will not be at such a rough disadvantage…

MemberCool, thanks for the suggestions, Cub. I’ll try that and let you know how it goes in November.
