We had 5 of us at the table for the 32nd Annual “Richtofen Remembrance” game. John B & H, Carl, Harry and Andrew got 3 good games in.
Game #1- Oct 1918 John B got stuck in a Pfalz DIIIa flying w/ Andrew in a SSW DIV against John H, Harry & Carl in SPAD XIIIs. The SPADs put a few nasty engine crits into the SSW, who made it to the clouds just before his engine quit… he was able to glide behind his lines and live to fight another day…
Game #2- Was Andrew, Harry and John H in Italian Hanriot HD1s vs. Carl & John B in Oeffags. It pitted both Priest kids flying 12 mission pilots against eachother. Both sides got a few good cracks in with little results before the Allies escaped to the clouds.
Game #3- April 21, 1918 RICHTOFEN game! Harry and John B. flew Camel 150s, Carl exhuberantly took the obligitory R.E.8 against Andrew & John H. in Dr.1s. Andrew got sandwiched the first turn and lost most of a wing, next turn taking a bad no opposites / fancies crit which took him out of the game. John H took on the 2 Camels for a few turns with little effect, and fleed shortly thereafter…
