ParticipantHi everyone, it’s been a while since we played and we wanted to clear something up.
When you recieve (as an example) a critical hit ot the right wing (#7 under critical hits wing)it states Aileron hit-cut turn speed by 10 MPH no opposite turns or banks permitted(if right wing, no left turns or banks permitted).
My question is does this include anything else going left besides a simple turn and or bank?
Would it also include a circle left (which is a reversal maneuver) or wingover left (which is a fancy maneuver)?
I do see that circle is listed under reversal and wingover under fancy and in other sections of the critical hits table it mentions fancy seperately but it says nothing of reversals etc
thanks

InactiveIn my experience – yes it means no opposite “turns” of any kind including circle, etc.
I would wait for a second opinion though :side:

ParticipantSo that would include a wingover?
The critical hit chart does state fancy maneuvers in another crit, so if this crit hit states opposite turn and bank not allowed (and does not say fancy) I lean towards allowing fancy…I dunno..your probably 100% right and will wait for another opinon as you say:huh:

MemberMy take is that a circle would not be allowed as it is nothing more than a series of turns, A wingover is neither a bank nor a turn so would be allowed. But that is my opinion.

MemberNo, a wingover uses the same controls that a bank would therefore it should not be allowed either.
of course this is just my two cents also. I just know that Zombee likes to be wrong:P

ParticipantI am going to open a new can of worms here, but… Are you going off of the version 7 critical hit chart? I believe the updated chart now includes that no fancies are allowed on the Aileron hit. Dan & Zombee are right, no opposites means ANY maneuver to the left.

ParticipantWhere can I see the updated chart ?

InactiveI just posted a scan of a copy of a copy of a copy that I had. I must have a cleaner one somewhere and I will look at home this weekend. For now – this not so good chart is in the downloads section under this FITS area…

InactiveSilly me – the page you really needed for the wing damage was page 2 – at least that is more legible…

ParticipantHere is the can of worms…
There are many other charts that have changed since version 7, more aircraft and even other fronts/nationalities have been introduced by Mr. Carr. These have mostly been released piece by piece through the Aerodrome, and most are still available in back issues, BUT Mr. Carr has been working towards releasing an 8th edition and hopes to do so soon (which he has been saying for oh, over 5 years now?) so I am not sure how much more he wants to put out there before this edition is released.
We have the mini-con coming up at the end of the month and I am sure Dan & I will be sure to discuss with him what charts are to be made available exclusively to members through the website…we’ll see!March 13, 2009 at 7:06 pm #7143Alan Christensen
ParticipantYes indeed, no opposite means none, not by a simple maneuver, a fancy maneuver, a normal turn, nor any other means whatsoever.

InactiveThanks to Mr. Joseki, we have a new downloads submission with a clean copy of the crit chart. It is available here…
