KeymasterHello Everyone,
Starting on July 1 the FITS Society will be running a quarterly contest for online Dawn Patrol! Over the course of the calendar quarter you’ll be able to score missions and accumulate points toward the contest, with the winner crowned at the end of September. This is your chance to prove that you’re the online Ace of Aces! Complete rules are below:
Online Dawn Patrol
Quarterly Ace of Aces CompetitionBeginning on July 1, 2014 the FITS Society will run a quarterly online “Ace of Aces”
competition for its members. Each calendar quarter we’ll crown the winner based on
the following criteria:
• Any player may participate in the games and may score missions, but to win you
must be a FITS Society member as of the end of the contest period (calendar
quarter) in question.
• A player must play three or more online Dawn Patrol missions during the quarter
to qualify for the competition.
• Standard Dawn Patrol scoring will apply to each scored mission.
• Each player’s score will be based on a total point approach.
• Each player may elect to “score” up to four different missions during the quarter,
but only the highest three will count toward his total point score. If the player
scores three or fewer missions, all of those missions are summed to get his total
point score. If the player scores the maximum of four missions, the lowest score
is dropped and the highest three are summed to get his total point score.
• If a player chooses to score a mission, he must announce his decision to his
wingmen before opponent aircraft are revealed. Any mission can be scored,
regardless of mission type and combat date.
• If a player is scoring a mission, he does not receive any ace or experienced pilot
bonuses beyond those of a 3rd to 12th mission pilot. If your pilot has fewer than
12 previous missions and less than 5 kills, you get your normal experience-based
characteristics. If you choose to fly a pilot who is an ace or who has 12 or more
prior missions, he flies as a third mission pilot only for the scored game.
• If you’re scoring a mission, scoring data must be submitted to Graham Cox
immediately following the mission. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
Submit via email to Graham.
• The winner will be determined and announced at the end of each calendar
quarter. -
