ParticipantNexus is a new game fair in Milwaukee that ran last Thursday-Sunday. George arranged a full slate of FitS, and to make sure we didn’t sit around with nothing to do arranged for four of us to be there for the full con. Blake Taylor, Ken Mrozak, George and I were there for the full slate of events. Rick Christian, Skip Williams, Bruce Yoder, Eric Weiss, and Mike Carr joined us off and on during the weekend. We played a total of 32 games. I got one kill (a prop shaft hit on Skip) and lost two rookie pilots and an Albatros D III pilot on his 12th mission

For the scheduled events George ran the Amiens campaign that was in the Aerodrome a few issues ago. It worked out fairly well. A couple changes that might be tried were suggested. Don’t have the full listed roster of planes available, reduce it to slightly more than the number of players so that lost planes hurt more. Also the Germans won handily due to a combination of multiple missions in Fokker D VII (185) and a more than averages number of games at high altitude; a lethal combination especially for SE 5a’s. It might balance the sides to reduce some of the D VII to 200 or 160 models.
In addition, most of the players in the campaign started their Four-by-Four pilots. My Alb D V, Fokker D VII, and SE 5a pilots all completed two missions in the campaign to get their careers started. In the first mission, I started Lt. Detlef Kruger in an Albatros D Va. He survived but got no kills (I did manage to roll double 2’s, which does no good for a first mission pilot!) In that same mission my flight leader, Ken M., got the first casualty of a Four-by-Four pilot, losing his Albatros pilot to George H.

MemberIn support of an offensive, I think that all missions should be a low level, but at least at hign level the gliders could get home
And to bring the quality and quantity of the German Jagdstaffels down would help as well. Thanks to all to played at Nexus, it was a fun time!
Keep em flying
