Well, I never played FITS….. sorry to say. I have however played DAWN PATROL since about 83-85 in Arizona. It was the most fun I had in a game, I found a group of DP players in a hobby store one day and got invited out to learn the game, best decision I have ever made.
He had a hand drawn board that was twice the size of the regular game map and we played on this huge dinning room table with 8 to 10 players! Those were awesome fights!
I had shot down this one players German Ace (no easy task, actually, just got lucky on a pilot hit), but since he was also an avid coin collector, as tribute to the kill he gave me a coin and german mark (which I still have today).
Every place I move too, I try to introduce this game to players, some people like the game and some dont. All of them wish I would start over and dump my pilots! NOT!
Been playing for over 20 years off and on and I have like 3 ace’s (no easy task to achieve) and they act like I am cheating by having them already. What is worse, is that in some area’s that I introduce the game, I can’t find enough players to log missions! Aaaarrrggg!
Oh well, I ramble on now…. suffice to say, that this game is awesome!
