ParticipantHello All,
At the State Challenge tourney this past weekend, there was converstaion of interest in starting up some live games again via VDP. I thought I would start a new thread here to let users try to get some live games going again.
I would be happy to give any ‘new users’ a tutorial on the system, just let me know… otherwise, I would suggest that potential online players start posting on this thread and state specifically what days and times you might be available to play…
for example-Mark, wants to play Mondays and Wednesdays anytime after 5PM CST.
This way we can hopefully match up any potential foursomes.
Otherwise, you may also suggest a specific date and time, and see what kind of response you get.
The email games are up and running strong, and a few players there have expressed intrest in playing live online games as well, so I think there is the demand, we just need to get it organized.

InactiveFor me the best is Thursday evenings – I would prefer to start no earlier than the times indicated:
1st choice – Thursday: 8:30pm
2nd Choice – Wednesday: 8:30pm
3rd Choice – Sunday: 8:30pm
I know that may be too late for some people, but if it is a 4 player match, it isn’t too bad.
I really can’t commit to a time much earlier than that, though occasionally I might make an earlier game.
Fridays and Saturdays are a no for me.

MemberMark Stevenson here, and yes I am interested in joining in a live game! It would be my first time, and I know there are some differences to running the email games. I would need to be instructed on those differences (a second chat window, if I recall?).
Wednesday and Friday evening are my only marginally bad times, every other time is ok with me. And I could swing Wed and Fri too with some advance notice, possibly.
So I will keep my eyes open for some live games to start up soon, looking forward to it!

Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays are all good; Wednesdays sometimes. Anytime of day works.
Haven’t played on-line before but am ready for lessons.

MemberI know that the date was changed to Monday through emails. I will still be on tonight to try to get used to playing live games. I still haven’t figured out how to change the server names to German, Allied, etc. (if that is even possible).
Hope to see some of you online soon!

ParticipantThere was a four player game last night, I dropped in for a few minutes to assist with questions, but I think everyone had a good time and they were able to figure it out!!
Look for more online games soon!

Memberthank you very much, Andy. Your assistance was exactly what we needed to get going. It was a good time. We got 2 missions done. We are planning another soon. Possibly this Sunday night, the 7th. Anyone else want to join us?

ParticipantHi,
Scott here. I am up for live online games as well. The problem I have is I have to share this computer with 3 teenagers. I start a new job on 08/08/11 and would not be available most nights until after 7:30pm. Right now Thursday night seems to be my best option.

ParticipantInterest in VDP is growing quickly!! We had 7 players play in a game last night, Mixed bag of German fighters vs. Belgian Camels in Oct. 1918. With new players still figuring out the system (and the game for that matter) it was a bit slow, but for the most part everyone is picking up the system quickly and enjoying themselves!
Thank you to Lynn for organizing the game!August 8, 2011 at 5:03 pm #7718Mark Stevenson
MemberAndy: “Interest in VDP is growing quickly!!”
I gave at least a dozen demos of the Vassal/DP game at GenCon. I had many people write down this site’s address for reference and to get in touch with other players. On Sunday Mike Carr joked that, “Oh look, Mark went 30 minutes without mentioning the online game!” Lol
Hopefully the game, email and live, will continue to gain momentum.
