    Below are two different alternatives for possible rules regarding jams on short bursts. Please use this forum topic to express your opinion on these potential alternatives. You can say which one you like and why you like it, what you don’t like about an alternative, you can suggest clarifications/enhancements, or you can even suggest another alternative. We’ll entertain (friendly) discussion of the topic on this thread before we vote at a later date. Please restrict your comments on this thread to this rule — other rules up for debate will get their own threads.

    Item D – Jams on Short Bursts

    D.1 If you jam your gun(s) on a short burst you still do at least one point of damage for your attack. Note: if you jam one gun in a twin mount, you roll on the single gun damage table, and do NOT add a point for the gun that jammed.

    OR

    D.2 If a jam occurs during a short burst, no hits are scored by the jammed gun, per Dawn Patrol 7th edition rules.

    Either is OK. If I were the god of the skies I’d rule that D.2 is used, except during tournaments were D.1 can be used at the judges option.

    I prefer to stick with Edition 7 rules in this case. Why? My feeling in general is that we have too many house rules. House rules are fine if they’re addressing an exploit or playability, but that’s not the case here.

    I will vote with the group here and go with D.2 Stick to 7th edition and pray pray pray for 8th edition…but not hold breath!
