MemberI’m new here.
Use to play FITS a long time ago when I was young. I don’t think we actually got the rules all that correct back then, but we still had fun with this game.
I always dreamed of doing FITS in miniature. Now I’m older, have a local gaming club, and have some cash and want to try FITS out in miniature.I have the Dawn Patrol ruleset coming to me in a couple of weeks, just bought some small planes(I live in Tokyo and they have a collectors set here for cheap). I am thinking about how to mount them and make the game board.
I hope to learn how to play online also.
Have you guys seen this series?

ParticipantHi Matt!
Welcome to the site! There are a few of us that have started using the Wings of War series of miniatures and incorporating them into Dawn Patrol… I would recommend checking out the ‘Main Gallery’ section under the community tab and check out Dan’s page regarding using miniatures.
I also have a webpage on the subject located here- http://www.geocities.com/cubsfan4life1908/3DFitS.htmlIf you have any further specific questions, please feel free to drop a line here and I am sure we will do our best to answer them!
As far as playing online, we have been working on building an online community of players using the VASSAL board gaming engine. To find out more about how we do it, check out this webpage- http://indysquadron.com/id228.html and please direct any questions you have to the ‘VDP’ section of this forum.
We also play email games using the VASSAL application, which is a fun way to play as well.August 6, 2008 at 4:38 am #6858Matt V
MemberNice looking setup in miniature on the website, I’ll check out the rest of the site later tonight.
I don’t know exactly what size the models I have now are. I think they may be 1/144 scale. Do you know what scale the Wings of War models are?
I’ve also have been talking to a person that sells Reviresco models. Does anyone recommend those? That person has a small company that sells all kind of dogfighting in miniature equiptment. The companies name is Top Gun Marketing. He sells premade bases with adjustable height stands for about 10 USA. I think I may purchase some from him althought the base it a hexagon.
Let me ping you later about gaming online. I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time now, I’m fairly excited.
Matt
Oh yeah, the Cubs look good this year. My team just let Manny Ramirez go to the Dodgers, they may give you problems in the playoffs now as he is a beast in the playoffs…..ALWAYS.August 6, 2008 at 3:38 pm #6862Anonymous
InactiveGlad to have you with us here Matt. I see that Andy already answered your questions. I hope to fly with
/against  you in Vassal soon!August 6, 2008 at 3:43 pm #6863Andrew Priest
ParticipantThe WoW models are the 1/144 scale. I have not personally seen the Reviresco models – are the ones you are using pre-built or did you build them yourself?
The bases that Dan & I have made are fairly easy to make & cheaper than $10 each, but i know the time to make them can sometimes be just as valuable
BoSox fan, huh? I was just in Boston last month, great baseball town. I think Jason Bay will be a good addition, although cant really place Manny. Cubbies have been hot…lets hope they can keep it up!
