MISSION #4- March 1917. Fighter vs Fighter, Over the Front, 7700ft. JB in his Alb DV and AP in his Pflaz DIII were SURPRISED by Kurt in his special twin gun Sopwith Triplane (-10 top & turn, -50 climb) and JH in his S.E.5. The Allies were able to hammer on the Bosch for a number of turns, with AP taking an engine crit and both German AC weakening significantly. Finally on turn 4 the tables turned as the Germans gained the initiative, and AP got a 50ft top on the SE5, putting a slug in the pilot!! JH as usual fell asleep immediately & his fighter plummeted.
Kurt attempted to continue on the fight, but out-numbered & out-gunned, his riddled Tripe dove for the clouds.
Both Allies made the E-field, with JH waking up at JUST the right time! He was able to successfully land and the surgeons sewed him up for the next flight. Kurt walked away as well, but smashed his special tripe to pieces on landing!MISSION #5- June 1917. Allies on Photo Recon.
Kurt & Carl were on a photo op. in DH4s escorted by JH in a Sopwith Tripe. They were met by the 2 Pfalz’s of AP & JB and battle ensued… Kurt stayed high, completed his mission, and was able to escape the battle unscathed to earn his mission points. Carl flew in for an obs opportunity H-O on the first turn against JB, which did NOT bode well with the Bosch… when Carl lost iniative the next turn he was hammered by JB, but not enough to slow him down. Shots were traded for a few more turns before the Allies decided to retreat.MISSION #6- July 1917 Germans on Phot Recon
Carl & Andrew took to the skies in their trust DFW CVs, escorted by JB in his Alb DV. On the way to their mission they surprised Kurt in his Tripe and John in his SE5. The Germans attacked relentlessly and were able to scare away the Allies so they could complete their photo recon mission successfully.
