    Hi Everyone,

Tonight’s play by play is brought to you by Xantax. If it doesn’t say Xantax on the label, then it says something else!

Ok, in the top of turn one, we have John B and Carl F. (6/0) flying SE5a’s against Andy (2/0) and Scott (2/0) in Alb DIII’s with Stephen (0/0) accompanying in an Alb DII.

Tonight’s action saw a lot of pilot chances on both sides. Carl’s pilot did end up with a No effect pilot hit from Andy. Both sides battled back and forth through turn 4, exchanging glancing blows, for top honors. In turn 4, Stephen peppered John’s top with seven hits, causing his plane to smoke and adding 100′ to all of his shots. This reporter feels this was the decisive turning point in the game for the Germans.

Not to be outdone by his wingman, Carl received three hits in his forward fuselage in turn six, causing a fuel tank hit and his plane exploding. Both Andy and Scott shot at Carl that turn, with Andy easily out rolling Scott in numbers for the kill credit. Sorry about your pilot Carl. :(

(Down a table) John stuck it out for one more turn (seven) attempting to take out his old nemesis, Scott. He did have one pilot chance on Scott, but failed the roll. Awww ;)

It was now time for John to bugger off, which he did by beating the Bosch with his initiative roll. He was once again happy to fly away into the sunset. I am starting to see a pattern here, ar ar.

There is plenty of board room and plenty of planes to fill the skies for our next combat encounter. Won’t you answer the call and join us next Sunday evening at 7pm Central for another rousing session of Dawn Patrol (aka FITS, aka, why is everyone always shooting at me, aka, it’s always fun until someone loses a pilot). Well, you get the point.

As Mike says, ‘Keep em’ flying’

    Nice report Scott!!

One ** to note, on the last turn i DID beat John in numbers, his superior SE just was flashy enough to immediately put more than 500 feet between himself & my slooowwww Alb…

Yeah, it was time to get out of there. Otherwise I would have stuck around for another shot. Even with 4 engine hits, smoke and a jammed wing gun.

I want it to be known. In as much as I like to have fun, I hope I never degrade anyone or cause any ill feelings. I have not met a person online or at the table that I have true respect for when it comes to this game. I am a newbie (less than 600 total games played) and hope I don’t jeopardize any friendships. I try to have fun, and I hope my comments are received in that manner. It might be a cover for my inability to meet the skill levels of the masters that I play with. I enjoy EVERY game I play, but mostly I value the friendships of all I have come to know both online and at the game table. Salute!

Scott you may want to read your post and edit it. Given the apologetic tone, I think what you meant to say is ” I have not met a person online or at the table that I have true respect for when it comes to this game.”.

About the game: I don’t care as much about losing a 5 mission, NO kills pilot as I do about my poor play last night. On the opening move I dove too far and put myself out of the fight for a while. Then I left my exposed for a 200′ head on which Andrew passed on. On the last turn I took too big of a risk, so KABOOM.

Anyway, I look forward to the next time when I hope to play better.

Yes, correction on my last post. I meant to say I have the utmost respect for all the players I have met thus far both online and at the table. My post above did not come out right. Thank you to Carl for pointing that out.

If I have offend anyone I am sorry. You can take a free shot on me during a future game.

Frankly, Scott your posts are so fun to read that i would get offended if someone was offended by them… i mean only a trained moose would really take offense right?

(We apologise for the offensiveness in this post. Those reponsible for the trained moose comments have been sacked.)
Mind you, moose bites can be pretty nasty!

(We apologise again for the offensiveness in this post. Those responsible for sacking the people who have just been sacked, have been sacked.)

Well Scott, I wasn’t really offended, once I saw who wrote the post.

    So…
Do I still get the free shot?

Scott is pretty easy to shoot at already guys, I don’t think we need to go and make it “free”!! In fact, I think we need to get him to change his call sign from “Great Shot Scott” to “Great Shot AT Scott”. Now that’s offensive!

Hey Scott, it’s all in good fun. Taking a great (but still good natured) verbal pot shot at someone is just as much fun as landing 8 hfs of damage, in my opinion. Just think about Jim Barber … he scored a double kill his last time up, but if we were counting “verbal kills”, each of us shot him down two or three times ; ) Now the trick — you have to be able to take it, not just dish it out! I love it when someone lands a great shot at my expense.

Hey Andy, you train your moose in Minnesota? Up in Manitoba we were smart enough to be scared of them, and to just stay away. Either that or we previously sacked all of the moose trainers.
