    Hello everyone,

As they say in radio land, “The hits just keep on a comin’ “.

Tonight’s matchup took place in October of 1917. It was an Allied Fighter Ground attack mission. Front low. Andy Priest (18/3) teamed up with yours truly Scott (5/0) in Belgian Nieuport 17’s against a Halberstadt CL II 2 seater (John B – rookie crew) and a Pfalz DIII (TJ – rookie pilot).

The first turn found Andy moving first. He made no mistakes in giving his foe any chances of hitting him. He was well out of range and relaxing observing the action. John B moved next and was able to take a 400 foot side shot on Andy. John missed his shot. Scott moved next and attempted a 500′ side shot on John. Having missed his shot, TJ moved last and was able to score 3 hits to Scott’s bottom. At this point, everyone had mission credit. Fly off, right? But no, that wasn’t good enough, so on to turn 2.

Turn 2 ended with John’s obs scoring one hit from a 300′ HO shot on Scott’s engine. Scott doesn’t play well with 2 seaters! Scott took the 300′ side shot on (down a table!) John and missed. The same turn TJ scored 3 hits to Scott’s tail. A RW crit cut Scott’s dive by 150′.

Turn 3 was fairly uneventful, but Turn 4 was the deciding factor of the game. The Germans rolled poor initiative and both moved first. Both TJ and John boxed up to fend off the attackers (JB at 5300, TJ at 5250). Scott mirrored at 5200′ and was able to take a 150′ tail shot on TJ. He hit for an embarrassing one point of damage.
Meanwhile, Mr AP (Ace Points) Andy Priest snuck up underneath TJ and peppered his bottom for 9 hits from 50′. Two of the shots entered the cockpit and one found its mark. TJ was a 13 and heading for the ground. TJ made it to 1750′ where he decided to take a 200′ overdive and land his plane to avoid the conciousness roll. The virtual dice said “NO” and TJ’s wings evaded his plane. SPLAT! What more can be said. We were all saddened by this event, but Cest La Guirre!

John rolled high initiative but was able to evade and outdive his opponents, who also choose to let him go. With Scott’s dive cut by 150′ and JB able to outdive him by 150′ anyway, John bravely ran away to fight another day.

So, Andy was credited with a kill, now 19/4. John’s rookie 2 seater Halb crew earned a mission. TJ lost a rookie pilot. AJ killed TJ!

BUT Scott, with an 85% chance to land with one wing crit rolled 90% for the crash. On a d6 he rolled a 4 which is a overturn flip crash – Plane demolished. On a 70% chance to survive for his pilot, he rolled a 72!!!!! — Dead! Figures.

If any of these events sounds like something you would like to experience first hand then we look forward to seeing you online next Sunday evening 06/15/14 @ 7pm. What better Father’s Day present than a dirt nap!

    Faithfully submitted,
    ~Great Shot Scott

Just to be clear, I meant great job on the write up, not on the dirt nap!!! You may have caught this, but one wing crit should give you only -5% to land.

To all the other online FITSters out there — we need a better showing on these game nights! Two nights in a row with just the minimum four players.

    Graham (again)
