Good evening everyone,
It is great to be back in action after a couple weeks off. Tonight’s matchup was an Allied 2 seater mission. Andy Priest (3/0) both pilot and observer in a DH4 teamed up with Scott Kolar in a Camel 110 Pilot (9/1) against Chris O’Halloran in a Fokker DVII and John Buckland in an Albatros.
The game saw a surprise attack by the Allieds in opening roll of the game. The allies did not take advantage as Scott missed from a 100′ top shot on O’Hal. AP however did score with 2 hits to John’s bottom.
The Germans enjoyed good initiative rolls for the next two turns. O’Hal took advantage of his initiative putting a total of 12 hits into Scott’s Camel, and causing a right wing crit. Climb was cut by 50′ and dive by 400″. John assisted scoring 5 hits from the bottom. Chris had four pilot chances, and John had one chance. All missed! Scott was hopping in his pilot’s seat for sure. Scott took 17 hits in two turns. Yikes!
The next two turns found the Germans on the receiving end of some hits, but nothing to write home about. The sixth and final turn ended the game with the allies getting good initiative and putting considerable distance between them and the Bosch. The Germans were unable to catch up at that point.
This was a fast and relatively uneventful game. It took about one hour with set up and lasted six turns. A quick, fun evening for sure.
Next game will be Sunday, August 3rd at 7pm. Hope to see you there!
