    Hi All,

We just wrapped two missions for Monday night FITS. We had 6 players for the first game. Scott Kolar had a DH9 escorted by two Bristols (Andy P and Chris O). They were met by a Hannover (Jeff Mc) escorted by two pitiful Alb D.Va’s (Graham and Ken). The battle was in October of 1918! It started badly for the Germans, with Graham flying into a defensive box on turn one. Underestimating the DH9, he let Scott have a 150′ side shot at him to get a close range shot on Andy’s Bristol’s bottom. Chris came in on Graham too, and the two British aircraft hit Graham with 6 guns, for 11 hit factors. Four of them went in the engine, but he avoided criticals.

Andy got on Graham’s tail on turn 2, and shot up Graham some more before Graham escaped. Then Andy shot up Ken with tail attacks before Ken could get away. Ultimately all of the Germans escaped, but not before being badly shot about. Andy’s aces did most of the damage, but Chris and Scott stuck in the fight as well. All of the combatants eventually made it safely back to base.

The second mission was set in September of 1918, with two Dolphins (Chris and Graham) surprising two Fokker D.VIIs (Ken and Jeff). Chris shot one of Jeff’s aileron hinges on turn 1, then holed Ken’s fuel tank on turn two. Both Germans escaped with good initiative rolls (on turn three), but Ken only flew for a handful of turns before his engine conked out. He made a safe emergency field landing, and Chris rolled successfully for kill credit. Jeff escaped and landed safely at home base. Unfortunately for Ken and Jeff they were both scoring the mission. While their pilots survived (good news), they scored -36 and +4 respectively (not so good).

Next scheduled gaming is Sunday August 31!
    Graham
