As many of you may know our rich history has never included an Ace of Aces. There has been an informal competition over the last decade or so to be able to add that accolade to our list of honors. The current leaders each have three Ace kills.

In that veign let us applaud Tully who on his 6th game EVER joined the race by scoring TWO thats right two Ace kills.

Rolling surprise he fired on Spencers 19/10 double setting him on fire. Spencer managed to land and stumble from his plave before sucumbed. Two turns later on a good initiative roll he fire on Scott’s 21/9 giving him a critical wound. Scott crashed on landing killing the pilot instantly.

    Congrats Tully!!

My pilot Oscar Ritter von Mader II shot down 5 aces, but was later wounded and captured behind enemy lines.

The big question is , what is an ace? 5 kills vs 12 missions. For instance , I am more impressed by Tully downing two pilots with 19 kills between them than I would be if they had 24 missions between them and zero kills.

I beleive we all define an Ace as a pilot with 5+ kills. Though if we went historical I believe the germans would require 10+ kills to be an Ace.

The Germans considered you a ‘kanone’ when you reached 4 kills. You would be mentioned in dispatches and put on an official ace roster.
It was the Brits who had the 10 kill mark. The French had the 5 kill mark, aped by the US.
