ParticipantDidn’t know where to put this sooooo…
The upcoming aerodrome will have The Ace and Experienced submition sheet in it. Not sure what Mr Carr’s timeline is for distribution but compilation of said list is about to commence. Dan could you post a submition sheet on here? We will be accepting both hand written and electronic submitions.
Thanks~~Jim

InactiveThe DP-PILOTS application under the FITS Only tab provides a way to submit pilots. Ace level pilots then show up on the Ace List under that app. Were you looking for something in addition to this?

ParticipantThe Ace List that gets published in the AERODROME has a slightly different format, an the AC themselves are broken down individually, not by category as well. How difficult would be to set something up so users could import an excel spreadsheet with their data? Either that, or come up with a universal format for submitting. Will we be able to export from the online ACE list to a spreadsheet to publish in the DROME? Or should we just have users send an email to the individual responsible for putting the list together? lots of questions i have!!

ParticipantJim,
Correct me if I am wrong, but the submission sheet in the Drome is setup like this, right?Tally | Aircraft | Pilot | Rank | Nationality | Owner | Medals
So the differences would be minor, but would be best to set up in a way that is easiest to export to excel & make sortable.
The biggest thing is probably the aircraft. For the official list it is broken down by individual type, IE so if you have an R.E.8 2 seater Ace you would need to be able to indicate that somehow.

Hey guys, I would add the category ‘Group Affiliation’ for what squadron you fly out of.
Tally | Aircraft | Pilot | Rank | Nationality |Owner| Medals |Squadron
And I think that a blank spot for plane type would be perfect. I have the last list of how planes are sorted by type. And If you want I can submit that for you to post.
But Yes I would prefer a seperate sheet you can submit. The Roster spot you guys have here is kool but I would worry that I would miss a pilot while sorting through the whole list.

ParticipantThanks go out to Ron Currie and Robert Auer being the first two individuals to send in thier Ace and Experienced lists.
(That was the subtle hint to the rest of you:)

MemberActually I handed to him:) It took me all of 1 minute to write it up since I only have the one. But you are all witnesses. Jim has threatened to lose that sheet since this pilot has one kill and it was a solo kill on Jim’s 4 seat bomber.
Jim, perhaps you should re-post your email here for submissions?

ParticipantIn case any of you missed it the Ace and Experienced submission form went out with the last Aerodrome. I’d like to have all of your submission by September. If you have any questions let me know.
thanks ~~Jim

ParticipantJim,
What is the best way to send you a soft copy? I have my list in an excel spreadsheet, that I could easily sort the columns per the insert in the DROME… would that be OK?lmk thanxs!

ParticipantThat works for me Though I will take them in any form I can get them. Rob sent them to me in email and I just pulled them from there. If I have questions I will ask.

InactiveI do apologize, I have started doing websites on the side (in addition to my day job) and I have been swamped. Earlier this summer, I did add an area for Squadron information to the DP-PILOTS tool so that it would display it for Jim on the DP-PILOTS ace list.
To have your squadron listed with your aces on the DP-PILOTS ace list, just go to the DP-PILOTS options page and click “Edit My Settings”, you will see the squadron drop-down box. The missing piece is a page to add and edit your squadron info if it is not listed in the drop down yet. I can add missing squadrons manually to the database if you reply here to let me know.
I hope to have a set of input pages available for next year’s ace list in addition to the DP-PILOTS option, but this year I am too late with it.
