Scott Kolar
ParticipantAAR Report Monday 10/20/2014
For the AAR report this Monday evening, I am Scott Kolar, and your not! And this is how I saw it.
Game one took place in April 1918. Andy P., Carl F. and Scott K. in British SE5a’s tried to show Jeff Mc (Fokker DRI) and John B. (SSW DIII) how things are done on the Allied side of the front. It was determined that Scott was the flight leader of this battle. I am not sure that was or should be the case, because it once again made him a wanted target. He doesn’t need any help in this area. He has this part of the game down pat.
The battle took place 100’ above a cloud bank from 14100 to 14400. Clouds are your best friend when your being pummeled. Both John and Jeff took turns attempting to cripple poor Scott. In five turns of play, they managed to dish out 28 HF’s with most of those landing in the wings. Scott ended up with nine HF in the left wing and eight in the right wing. Your RIGHT, there wasn’t much LEFT. Scott did suffer a RW crit that cut his dive by 100 feet, but that would not make a difference with the clouds lurking below.
Upon attempting to land his riddled crate, Scott had a 95% chance to land with one crit. He rolled a 99%. It was a crash and somehow Scott managed to walk away from the ruins of his former warbird. Everyone else made it back safely and landed. No kills or pilots lost. And that’s the way the cookie crumbles. And that’s the way it was. And that’s the way, uhuh uhuh, I LIKE IT, uhuh uhuh.
Game two unfolded in June 1917. Andy P and Carl F were British Sopwith 1 ½ Strrutters flaunting their tail feathers at Jeff Mc and Scott K in Roland DIIa’s. Yes, Jeff cursed us with these planes. One percentage point away from SSW DI’s, which would have made this match up very interesting. But that is not the case now is it, so I have to TRY to make this match up sound interesting. Thanks Jeff.
I won’t lie. It really wasn’t interesting. Both sides flew around a bit and took shots at each other. It was learned at the end of the game however that both Andy’s and Carl’s observers were suffering. Jeff managed to break Andy’s obs with a LW. Carl’s obs gun was jammed Still, throwing caution to the wind, which was 10 mph out of the West by the way, neither Jeff or Scott wanted to take a chance with the rear gunners. Although, there was suspicion that something was ‘amiss’ with the way the Allies were flying. The game ended with both Andy and Carl winning initiative and diving away out of the fight. The Germans ruled the skies in this unexpected turn of events. Just ask yourself, “Are Jeff and Scott that good?” Nah.
And there you have it, direct from Wallace the Weather Bear. Now I am dating myself. As always, don’t forget to wipe and flush!
