    Hi all,

Ken spurred is into some Dawn Patrol action on Saturday night. We had five players for the first game (Ken, Carl F, Scott, John and Graham), and Andy joined us as the sixth for a second game.

Game 1 was set in April 1918, and saw three French SPADs (Scott and Graham in VIIs, John in a XIII) against Carl in an Albatros and Ken in a Pfalz. Neither Graham nor Scott could miss, but they also weren’t dishing out big damage from there one gun wonders. Eventually Graham bugged out, having taken 16 total hits, but putting 9 of them in his left wing. Scott stuck to Ken, and sawed his left wing off. Ken took to his parachute, but landed well behind allied lines, and was made a POW.

Game 2 was much earlier – February 1, 1917! The Germans had two Rumpler C.Is (Graham and Carl) with an Albatros (Andy) escort. Scott, Ken and John took to the air in those wonderful F.E. 8’s. The game didn’t last too many turns. Scott took to the clouds with mounting wing damage. Graham had his observer gun jammed, and he’d been tailing Scott, so he followed. Andy had both guns jammed! Thus the game broke up with no casualties. That’s a surprisingly good outcome for an FE 8 … you know you’re in trouble when you’re outperformed by a Rumpler C.I carrying bombs …

    Graham
