Scott Kolar
ParticipantSorry for the very brief report for Monday night. I did not take good notes and actually had not expected to be writing this. I have vowed to take better notes for all future games.
The first game took place in November of 1918. It was Scott and Jeff flying British Camels vs Andy Priest in a Pfalz DIIIa, Carl Fritz in a Roland DVIb & Chris OHal in a Fokker DVII. Neither side was very effective with their damage. Scott was able to dish out six hits to Chris in turn one. In that same turn, he jammed one gun and would never be able to clear the jam the remainder of the game. In turn two, Scott dealt only 4 hits to Carl Fritz with his operational gun. Neither burst caused any significant damage to the Germans. The Germans also dished out minimal damage to the Allies. In turn one, Scott received six hits. That is all the damage he would receive the remainder of the game. Eventually, the Germans ran into the clouds. No one was shot down.
Game two took place in September of 1917. For the Germans it was Andy Priest and Scott Kolar in Alb DIII’s against Chris, Carl F and Jeff in Spad VII’s. The Albs held there own most of the game having a two gun to one gun advantage. The Spads had the speed when they needed it. Both Carl and Chris got into trouble and were able to make good their escape, leaving Jeff to take on the mighty Albs. Jeff had jammed his gun late in the game and attempts to clear it were unsuccessful. Although Jeff had a tailing advantage on Scott at the end of the game, he decided to bug out and live to fight another day. No one got shot down.
Jeff McInnes was scoring one of the two games from this evening. He has verified his score with his wingmen and submitted an email to Graham with his score.
