Hi Everyone,
I thought we could use this thread to post updates on our 4 for 4 pilots. Many thanks to Mr Carr for starting this special event — I think it is a great idea.
Through gaming on August 25th I’ve been able to fly all four of my special pilots, and I’ve managed to keep them all alive, so far! Yay!
Morton Ellsmore is my SE5 pilot, with a record of 1/1. He shot down Janie Fritz at Gen Con, sawing both of the wings off of her Albatros D.V.
Robert La Tour is my SPAD pilot, with a record of 1/0. He flew a SPAD XIII on his first mission and dealt a lot of punishment, but couldn’t score a victory.
Erich Schumann flies the Albatros D.V/D.VA. He is now 3/1. On his first mission he forced down a AWFK8 flown by Jim Barber. Since then he’s been lucky to survive!
Wilfried Ender is 1/1 in the Fokker D.VII. He shot down Ken Sawchuk’s SE5A, lightly wounding the pilot. Ken fell unconscious and ripped off his wings in an overdive — KIA.

I am curious, I have heard there have been a number of fatalities already. I am yet to fly mine but I know most everyone else has. I’d like to see how many have survived their first month of combat.
I have not done as well as Graham…

Gustav Martz took a light wound on his first mission in an Alb DVa, landed and died, and Ludwig Reiner took a CW on his first mission with the same result. One and Done!My Allies have faired a bit better…
Albert Sardez scored a victory in his SPAD XIII by downing a DVII his first mission, and “Spike” is 2/0 so far in his SE5a.Albatros DV, Issak Mortell, has 3 missions. With a name like Mortell, I don’t expect him to live long.
SE5, Arthur Crossbridge, has 1 mission, 1 kiil (Al Christensen in an Albatros DV (pilot hit). This happened in the same mission as Graham’s SE5 pilot,
SPAD XIII, Fernand Saint Jean has 1 mission.
Fokker DVII, Theobald Venn is still waiting to be called up.

My other three are:
Fokker D VII – Lt Stefan Heintzelmann – 2/0
SPAD VII – So-Lt Rene Bentier – 2/0
SE 5/5a – Lt. Theodore Benton-Jones – 3/1 (made 95% roll for credit on a lightly wounded SSW D III pilot [Mike M.]).
