While looking up the information on ranks, I also found the Pilot Progression and Aircraft Groupings chart issued in 1999 for 8th Ed. If you want to keep this table driven I could live with updating the tables to this standard.
The changes for the Germans are:
1) Change Roland D IIa to Roland D II/IIa.
2) Add SSW D I to the Alb D II/Alb DIII/Roland D II/IIA group.
3) Add Fokker D VI to the Fokker D VII/Fokker D VIII/SSW D IV group.
4) Change SSW D IV to SSW D III/IV
5) The Roland D VI/Pfalz D XII group changes to Junkers D I/Pfalz Dr I/Pfalz D VIII/Pfalz D XII/ Roland D VIa/VIb. (aka please pass the trash!)
6) The following new groups are added:
6a) Fokker D II/III, Fokker E III/IV, Halberstadt D II, Pfalz E II (these are all one group). Promotes to the Alb D II group.
6b)C type two seater pilot. Promotes to 6c.
6c)CL/J type two seater pilot.
6d) C type two seater observer. Promotes to 6e.
6e) CL/J type two seater observer.
6f) Seaplane pilot.
6g) Seaplane observer.
